Live panoramic coverage of Photokina 2006

The IVRPA, or International VR Photography Association, is an international association of professionals who create and produce interactive, immersive images. During Photokina 2006, members of the IVRPA will be covering the major events and important booths in 360 degree, fullscreen immersive panoramic VR. These interactive VRs will be posted on this site during the event.

Around the World in 360 Degrees

On our booth in hall 05.1, we are showing an exhibition of printed panoramas by our members, as well as several showcases of interactive panoramic VR.
Listed below are the latest panoramas posted to the site. They may not be in chronological order. Alternatively, you can browse the panoramas by equipment used, by location on the fairground, by day, by photographer and by tag. Click the thumbnail to the view interactive VR, or click the title for more information about the VR.

I went into the Canon booth with my Canon 5D and the Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye lens attached. The minute they saw me they started to freak out, the guy on the screen jumped over me, another one had to put the glasses on, he couldn't believe that I had attached a Nikkor lens on my Canon body.

This a Pano shot at the Seitz Roundshot booth featuring me and Werner Seitz just to put some faces here, I am the guy in the left. Why don't I have my hand on the triger? The VR Drive does it all by itself ;-)

The two pictures you see here are the ones they used, the top one is from Dolce Vita Shopping Center in Porto, Portugal, the other is a pano made on the Rossio Square in Lisbon.

Almost every booth, be it for a camera manufacturer or postprocessing equipment, needs a model shoot to demo their products. And ofcourse it's not just the contracted pro photographers taking pictures...
I caught this model working an impossible pose for her photographer, and the hungry onlookers.

Lomography is all about shooting from the hip. I liked the Lomo booth concept so much I snuk in when they were still setting up their booth on day 0.
And in true Lomo fashion, this panorama was shot from the hip, without a tripod... Groovy content over photographic quality!

The first official panorama in the IVRPA Photokina 2006 project.
When I took this panorama, we had only just arrived at our booth in Hall 5.1. It's a quicky, so I did not even take my tripod out for this one. As you can see, we have a nice blank canvas to be hanging our prints on.
